There have been announced the results of the I round of subject Olympiads among 11th grade students of general secondary schools in Turkmenistan, organized by the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in collaboration with the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan.
A total of 469 high school students from the capital and velayats of the country participated in the I round of four online subject Olympiads in the history of Turkmenistan, mathematics, English and Turkmen languages.
237 students who scored the highest number of points have qualified for the II final round of the competition. Among them are 81 students from Ashgabat, 42 from Mary velayat, 32 from Lebap velayat, and the same number from Balkan velayat, 26 from Dashoguz velayat and 24 from Akhal velayat. The II final round is scheduled to be held on April 22 in an online format.
The winners and prize-winners who take the I, II, and III places in the Olympiads, as well as the recipients of incentive places, will be awarded Honorary Diplomas from the Higher School of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan and commemorative prizes from the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan.
The subject Olympiads are held in the country under the motto "Watanyň daýanjy – bilimli ýaşlar, Arkadagly Gahryman Serdaryň guwanjy ýaşlar!" (Youth is the support of the Motherland, youth is the pride of Arkadagly Hero Serdar!).
The Olympiads are dedicated to the International Day of Education, proclaimed by the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on December 3, 2018, in commemoration of the important role of education in achieving global peace and universal sustainable development.
The organization of the Olympiads is aimed at enhancing the intellectual potential of the country's youth, promoting career guidance for schoolchildren, developing their talents, and identifying the most gifted and capable students.
