According to the latest data, the profit of Turkmen entrepreneurs from agricultural exports in 2023 amounted to 135 million US dollars, which is more than a 10 percent increase compared to the previous year. This was announced by the head of the department of agriculture and fisheries of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Shamyrat Herremov.

According to Herremov, an important contribution to this success was the growth in exports of tomato products, which last year reached $100 million. Thus, Turkmenistan continues to strengthen its position in world markets, especially in the field of agriculture and food industry.

Last year was also marked by the launch of more than 20 new enterprises in the agriculture and food industry. Turkmen entrepreneurs are actively expanding the geography of their exports, including countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, the UAE, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, the head of the department emphasized.

Herremov noted that thanks to the opening of new production facilities, more than 500 new jobs were created last year. Since the beginning of the existence of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, more than 422 thousand permanent jobs have been created in the country, which indicates the constant growth and development of the economy.

Noting the increase in the number of Turkmen entrepreneurs involved in fishing, Shamyrat Herremov said that their number had reached 66 people. In 2022, thanks to their efforts, about 2.5 thousand tons of fish and fish products were produced, which emphasizes the importance of developing not only agriculture, but also the fishing industry in the country.
