On October 23, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held inter-ministerial consultations with the participation of a number of heads of structural divisions of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tajikistan.

During the consultations, the development of political and diplomatic dialogue between the two countries was discussed, and the importance of regular contacts at the highest level was emphasized. Close cooperation and support within regional and international structures, in particular the UN, were noted.

The diplomats exchanged views on topical aspects of international and regional policy. In this regard, attention was paid to the topic of regional security, in particular, issues of peace-building, economic recovery and political stability in Afghanistan, as well as countering new global challenges and threats.

The sides also stressed the effectiveness of the partnership between the foreign ministries. In this regard, the diplomats highly appreciated the level of cooperation within the framework of the current Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries.

During the consultations, a thorough exchange of views took place on issues of foreign policy planning, bilateral consular cooperation, as well as the implementation of the personnel policy of the foreign ministries of the two countries.
