Turkmen schoolchildren took part in the World Mind Sports Olympiad “MEMORIAD-2024” in Dubai for the first time and immediately achieved impressive results.
The competition attracted over 150 talented participants from 23 countries, including the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Japan, Singapore and other countries. Turkmen participants, studying the Anzan Mega mental arithmetic program, competed in several categories, including calendar calculations, flash Anzan marathon, mental addition and multiplication, and mental extraction of square roots.
Particularly impressive results were achieved by:
Mekan Nurgeldyev (9 years old) - gold medal in the flash-anzan marathon category among participants under 13 years old, scoring 43988,89 points in 1825.13 seconds
Aygul Yusupova (9 years old) - silver medal in the same category with a result of 38879,11 points in 1808,7 seconds
Ogulmaral Altyeva (12 years old) - bronze medal in the category of oral extraction of a six-digit square root, scoring 330 points in 508,54 seconds
Despite its debut participation, the Turkmen team was noted by the panel of judges as the most active team and awarded the Honorary Badge. A special award was given to Dovletmurat Durdymammedov, the official representative of the MEMORIAD Federation in Turkmenistan and a member of the panel of judges, for the high level of preparation of the national team.
The champions were trained by mental arithmetic teachers from the “Kamil Bilim” Training Center: Meylis Jelilov (Turkmenabad) and Dovletmurat Durdymammedov (Ashgabat).
