The development of domestic textbooks and educational aids continues under the coordination of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The biological direction, which includes combined botany and zoology, is being expanded through the joint efforts of teachers from secondary and higher education institutions and staff of the Institute of Education. Several scientific employees of the National Institute of Deserts, Flora and Fauna of the Ministry of Environmental Protection are involved in this activity.
Currently, a sample copy of a biology textbook for sixth grades (plants), intended for specialized schools with an in-depth study of subjects, has been released. In such schools, three hours per week are allocated for biology, while in regular schools, two hours per week are allocated for this subject.
The new book includes revised material from previous editions. The textual material is accompanied by photo illustrations and drawings.
Overall, several such textbooks were prepared for publication in the Turkmen language in the period from 2016 to 2019, including a botany reference book for medical professional schools under the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, general biology for ninth graders, and biology (plants) for fifth and sixth grades of secondary schools.
It should be emphasized that the books are published by the State Publishing Service of Turkmenistan in hardcover on coated paper.
