Presentation of the book by the President of Turkmenistan “Anau - culture from the depths of millennia” in Moscow

On April 18, 2024, at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Moscow, a presentation of the book by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov “Anau - culture from the depths of millennia” took place. About this reports MFA of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by representatives of the scientific community of Moscow and St.Petersburg, government agencies of Russia, the Turkmen diaspora and students.

In his welcoming speech to the participants, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Russia E.Aydogdyev, in particular, emphasized that this work of the Head of State is the embodiment of the policy to revive the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Turkmen people, popularize it in the world, promotes the development of international relations between historians, archaeologists of different countries, organizing joint archaeological and ethnographic expeditions on the territory of Turkmenistan.

The head of the Turkmen-Russian Margiana archaeological expedition, archaeologist Natalya Dubova, who, as part of a team of archaeologists, has repeatedly visited Turkmenistan, shared her rich research experience, emphasizing the presence of a huge and unique layer of archaeological heritage in the country.

Speakers at the presentation were Deputy Director of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Russian Academy of Sciences Roman Starchenko, researcher at Moscow State University. M.V.Lomonosov Alexey Krol, researcher at the Institute of General History of the Russian Academy of Sciences Tatyana Kotyukova, deputy director of the Museum of Oriental Arts Ilya Zaitsev, leading researcher at the Institute of the History of Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences Lyubov Kircho noted the relevance of the book’s publication, not only the theoretical, but also the applied nature of the publication in the context of international cooperation of Turkmenistan in the scientific and historical sphere and museum affairs. At the same time, the deep historical knowledge of the author of the book, his immersion in the topic, and at the same time, the ability to convey extensive factual and scientific material in an accessible form to the general reader both in Turkmenistan and abroad were stated.

During the event, an interested exchange of views took place on the progress and prospects of scientific cooperation between Turkmenistan and Russia as the most important component of comprehensive interstate relations.
