The Ambassador of Korea to Turkmenistan Ji Kyu-Taek visited the Innovation Information Center in Ashgabat on January 12. The plenipotentiary got acquainted with educational programs specialized for people with disabilities and those who are in the age of retirement and took part in an open lesson on learning the Korean language, receiving a basic understanding of the teaching methods used in the center.

It is important to note that this center provides education for people with disabilities and people of retirement age free of charge, which gives this educational institution special humanitarian significance.

It should be noted that the Innovation Information Center, located in the city of Ashgabat, offers to all interested in foreign languages and computer literacy training to those over 6 years old.

During the visit book of the President of Turkmenistan named “Youth is the Support of the Motherland" was presented to the Ambassador and was given as a gift from the Innovation Information Center. During the presentation was noted the importance of the book in educating the younger generation of Turkmen citizens in the spirit of patriotism, which has become a valuable guide not only for representatives of the younger generation but also for all citizens of the country.

During the exchange of views, the Ambassador and representatives of the center discussed declaring 2024 the Year of “Ocean of Wisdom Magtymguly Pyragy.” This event is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker and involves holding a variety of events at the national and international levels dedicated to the life and legacy of Magtymguly Pyragy.

The Ambassador also attended a training on the use of text-to-speech technology on computers and smartphones for educational purposes for people with visually challenged people, which was organized by this center together with the UNICEF office in Turkmenistan. The training took place from January 8-12, 2024. As part of this training, participants learned to use a text-to-speech program in Turkmen and Russian on computers and smartphones.

As a sign of friendship and support for educational and cultural initiatives, the Ambassador of Korea to Turkmenistan presented the Innovation and Information Center with several books on learning and teaching the Korean language. This gesture emphasizes the importance of cultural exchange and strengthening ties between Turkmenistan and Korea in the fields of education and culture.
