A large-scale cultural event dedicated to the 300th birthday Anniversary of the great philosopher and poet of the Orient Magtymguly Pyragy was held at Kent State University. This event became the basis for creating a program for the visit of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and British cultural relations between Turkmenistan and the USA.

The event began with a world opening featuring musical works based on traditional Turkmen motive. Pianist Maya Tuyliyeva and saxophonist Nicholas May performed a series of classical compositions that created a cultural atmosphere of Turkmenistan.

Particular attention was paid to the exhibition that accompanied the event. The exhibition presents rare books, manuscripts and works of art related to the life and work of Magtymguly Pyragy. The exhibition demonstrated the deep cultural heritage of Turkmenistan and the state originality of the poet as one of the founders of Turkmen literature and national identity.

An important part of the program was the reading of Magtymguly’s poems, organized by students of the University of Kent and participants from Turkmenistan. Such works were performed that allowed the audience to deeply penetrate the philosophy and feelings of the poet. The performances were accompanied by stories about the life and work of the poet, which helped the Americans to understand the cultural and literary heritage of Turkmenistan better.

During the event, there were also speeches by officials from the declared side, including representatives of the University of Kent and the Turkmen delegation. It was noted that such cultural events play a decisive role in strengthening international ties and bridges for the development of educational and cultural cooperation.

The event ended with a dinner attended by representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, delegates of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the governing body of the University of Kent.
