At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, issues of further development of the country’s civil aviation infrastructure were discussed. Director General of the Agency of Transport and Communications Muhammet Chakyev reported on plans to carry out the next technical maintenance of equipment at Ashgabat International Airport in accordance with international standards, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
As noted during the meeting, the ongoing work to modernize the material and technical base of the industry and open new air routes is helping to increase passenger traffic through the capital’s airport. To ensure flight safety and maintain the terminal's equipment at an up-to-date level, regular maintenance is necessary.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of bringing the Ashgabat International Airport to full capacity due to the increase in the number of flights. The head of state instructed the “Türkmenhowaýollary” Agency to continue systematic activities to modernize the infrastructure of the capital's air harbor in order to ensure high standards of flight safety.
