On July 5, 2024, the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN Office at Geneva (UNOG), in cooperation with other Central Asian Missions and the European Union Mission to UNOG, organized a side event within the framework of the ongoing 56th session of the Human Rights Council.
During the event, information was presented on the vision, positions and current processes within the framework of the implementation of national policies in the field of gender equality, through consistent work to strengthen and improve the legislative framework and institutional mechanisms, ensuring equal conditions for education and employment, expanding economic empowerment women and girls, increasing women's participation at all levels, including in the political and public spheres.
The collective efforts and aspirations of the Central Asian countries to develop productive interaction in the field of promoting gender policy were specifically noted.
In this context, the importance of the Women’s Dialogue platform of Central Asian countries, which has been operating since 2020, was outlined, which is an effective regional platform for promoting and developing long-term solutions on issues of gender equality.
