On January 1, 2024, Russia replaced Kyrgyzstan as chairman of the Commonwealth of Independent States. President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin approved the Concept of Chairmanship, which defines the key priorities of the Commonwealth for 2024, as well as a large-scale Action Plan for its implementation, including about 150 points.
Particular attention is planned to be paid to deepening economic integration, increasing foreign policy coordination, strengthening mechanisms for jointly countering traditional and new challenges and threats, and expanding cultural and humanitarian ties.
